[Depend on you]
01. Depend on you
This new song is kind of fast and pop-sounding but
it's *very* catchy! This is one of those songs that is really cool to listen
to a couple of times but then gets annoying. If you only listen to it once in
a while, though, it's good. I like this one the most out of all the songs she's
released so far (poker face, FRIEND, YOU, Trust,
and For My Dear... are the other ones). She performs this song on her
DVD ayumi hamasaki concert tour 2000 dai 1-maku and the cute, colored
outfits and hair really seem to fit the song...for those of you that have seen
that DVD...
02. Two of us
This song sounds cool too. I like the melody that
she's singing, it's different from the background music. As far as I know, this
single is the only release to have this song on it (not counting the remixed
version on ayu-mi-x). This is a good c/w song for Depend on you
because it's slower, contrasts with the fast first song.
03. Depend on you [Instrumental]
Another okay instrumental version. Depend on you is a good melody (once
again) but I think it sounds a lot better when you add Ayu's voice. For those
of you that use the 'instrumental' versions for karaoke I would probably recommend
this one, it's one of those loud, annoying, fast songs good for karaoke (sounds
like anime music! LOL).
[overall rating 9 out of 10]
Two very good original
songs! Depend on you is one of those songs good for performing in concert,
and Ayumi's one of those good live performers. I would recommend buying this
single (of course, collectors will want everything) for the song Two of us
which isn't anywhere else and is worth a listen. Rating the cover art...it looks
a lot better than her other cover art so far! I think the main purpose of it
is to try to confuse people as to which side is the back and which is the front
(if you have the single, you know what I mean). She's wearing all black but
doesn't look goth, and her makeup's cool. They also used those same metallic-silvery
letters I was talking about with the YOU single.
